Automatic Driving Course Prices
Fast-track your driving with concentrated automatic tuition arranged around your experience, confidence and current ability.
Automatic intensive courses for different experience levels
Automatic intensive courses place your driving lessons into a shorter, more concentrated period without the additional task of operating a manual clutch and gears.
The most suitable course will depend on your previous driving experience, confidence and the subjects that still need development. Learners with previous experience may require a shorter course, while new learners will usually need a more comprehensive programme.
Automatic intensive tuition is subject to instructor availability in your area. We recommend checking availability before making plans around a particular practical test date.
Automatic intensive driving course packages
Choose from 10, 15, 20 or 40 hours of concentrated automatic driving tuition. Agreed course dates can be secured with a £250 deposit.

Automatic intensive courses are available only where a suitable automatic instructor has sufficient space to complete the course within the required period.
Please tell us your postcode, previous experience and preferred dates before paying a deposit or arranging a practical test.

Why choose an automatic intensive course?
Intensive tuition can help you build momentum by practising more frequently over a shorter period.
No clutch or manual gears
Concentrate on road awareness, planning and decision-making without having to operate a clutch or change gears manually.
Frequent practice
Completing lessons closer together can reduce the amount of time spent revisiting skills between sessions.
Structured tuition
Your course is organised around your current ability and the driving subjects requiring further development.
One-to-one lessons
Tuition is delivered individually with an automatic driving instructor in a suitable tuition vehicle.
Book an £80 assessment lesson
Previous lesson numbers alone do not always show how close someone is to test standard. Learners develop at different rates and may have covered different subjects.
An assessment gives the instructor an opportunity to review your current driving and recommend a more realistic course length.

What is not included?
Guaranteed course dates
Dates cannot be guaranteed until an automatic instructor has confirmed sufficient availability.
Theory test fee
Your theory test must be booked and paid for separately.
Guaranteed practical test
Course availability does not guarantee that a suitable practical test appointment will be available at the end of your course.
Guaranteed pass
Passing depends on reaching the required standard and driving safely and independently during the practical test.
Confirm your course before arranging a test
Please check course and instructor availability before choosing a practical test date. Booking a test first does not guarantee that an automatic instructor or suitable tuition vehicle will be available.
Use of the instructor’s vehicle for the practical test must be agreed separately and will depend on your driving standard, the test centre, the appointment time and the instructor’s availability.
Your instructor may decline use of the vehicle if they believe you have not reached a safe and appropriate standard.
Deposits and payments
Course dates cannot be reserved until instructor availability has been confirmed and the required payment has been received.

Automatic intensive course FAQs
Are automatic intensive courses available everywhere?
No. Availability depends on whether an automatic instructor covers your postcode and has sufficient diary space to complete the course within the required period.
Can I secure a course with a deposit?
Yes. Once the course and dates have been agreed, a £250 deposit can be used to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due at least seven days before the course starts.
Which automatic course should I choose?
The right course depends on your previous experience, confidence and current ability. An assessment lesson can help an instructor recommend a more realistic number of hours.
How quickly can I complete my course?
Course times vary according to the number of hours selected, your availability and the instructor’s diary. Shorter courses may be completed over several days, while longer courses may take several weeks.
Is the instructor’s car included for my test?
Use of the automatic tuition vehicle for your practical test must be agreed separately. It depends on your driving standard, the test location, appointment time and instructor availability.
Does an automatic intensive course guarantee a pass?
No. The course provides concentrated tuition, but passing still depends on reaching the required standard and driving safely and independently during the practical test.
