Join Andrew’s Driving School and get the support to build a thriving diary without losing your independence. We provide a steady flow of new pupils, handle all initial enquiries, and book your first lesson for you. After that, you have total freedom to manage your own schedule and ongoing lessons.
Our goal is to reduce your admin so you can focus on the road. You’ll get full office support, online booking and card payment systems, DVSA test-booking assistance, and access to a spare car (subject to availability). We also provide ongoing training, Standards Check support, and free Theory Test Pro for your students.

PDI & Trainee Driving Instructor FAQs
Becoming a driving instructor involves passing three DVSA tests: Part 1 theory and hazard perception, Part 2 advanced driving, and Part 3 instructional ability. We support you through every stage of the process from start to qualification.
Yes. Once you have completed the required Part 3 training hours, you can apply for a PDI licence (Pink Badge). This allows you to start teaching pupils, gain real-world experience and begin earning while working towards qualification.
Training times vary depending on your availability, but many trainees complete the process within around 3 to 6 months. We work flexibly around jobs and family commitments.
Yes, many of our trainees begin their instructor training alongside their current job before moving into full-time instruction once qualified.
Yes, training can be completed in either a manual or automatic car. If you plan to teach manual lessons, you will need to hold a full manual driving licence.

Switching to our Headboard-Only franchise is completely risk-free. We are so confident in our pupil supply that we provide an Introductory Period with Zero Franchise Fees until we have delivered a minimum of 15 hours of work per week to your diary.
Areas Where We Need more instructors
We are currently looking for more instructors across Chester, Wrexham, North Wales and Shropshire. We have a lot of pupils waiting in these areas and would really like to bring more local instructors on board to help meet the demand. If you are already working nearby, this is a great chance to fill your diary with lessons closer to home and cut down on unnecessary travel.
South Yorkshire (Barnsley)
We already have a good number of pupils in Barnsley, and demand continues to grow. We are especially looking for ADIs who can cover the S70 to S75 postcodes and surrounding areas.
Cheshire, North Wales & Nearby Areas
We are also seeing strong demand in Northwich, Warrington, Knutsford and Telford, along with our North Wales areas. If you are based in or around these locations, we would love to help keep your diary busy with local pupils.
