Phase 3: Test Ready

How to Book Your Driving Test

The official way to book your practical test and manage your own booking through GOV.UK.

Need help understanding the new rules?

Driving test bookings and changes must now be managed by the learner directly through GOV.UK. We can no longer search for cancellations, use cancellation checkers, or change a driving test booking on your behalf.

We can still support you with advice, test readiness and vehicle availability. If you find a suitable test date yourself, speak to your instructor before changing it to make sure you are ready and the car is available.

📢

Important: New Booking Rules for 2026

The DVSA is introducing major changes to how driving tests are booked and amended from 2026, including limits on how many times you can move your test and restrictions on switching test centres. ⚠️

Avoid Unofficial Booking and Cancellation Services

Only use official GOV.UK services to book, change or cancel your driving test. Unofficial cancellation checkers and third-party booking sites may charge extra fees and may not be able to help under the new rules. A standard official weekday car driving test is £62.
