What will happen on my first driving lesson
In your first lesson, we’ll take a drive to a quiet spot in or around Holywell where you can get comfy with the car’s controls. Our driving instructor will walk you through starting the car and moving off before coming to a safe stop, making sure you feel at ease behind the wheel.
How long should I book for my first driving lesson?
The optimal amount of time for a driving lesson is around 90 minutes,most learners tend to lose their concentration after this time. For your first few lessons an hour can be enough, however with the nearest driving test centres to Holywell being in either Rhyl or Chester you should consider that 2 hour lessons will be necessary as you get closer to the driving test.
What do I need to bring to my first driving lesson?
We will need to see your provisional driving licence at the beginning of your first lesson. Other than that just make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes and you will be ready to go.
Do I need to pass a theory test?
You can begin your lessons before passing the theory test, however you will need to pass the theory test before you can book your practical test.

You’ll be driving on a mix of roads around your test centre, and both Chester and Rhyl will have routes that include dual carriageways, so it’s a good idea to feel comfortable on those faster roads and major roundabouts before you take your driving test.
