Should I Learn Automatic or Manual?
Choosing between automatic or manual transmission is a common dilemma for new drivers. When considering whether to learn automatic driving lessons or manual driving lessons, several factors should influence your decision. Automatic cars have become increasingly popular due to their ease of use also with the onset of electric vehicles manual cars may soon become a thing of the past.

Automatic Transmission Selector
No clutch to worry about just select drive to move forwards, Reverse to move backwards. Neutral is just that and park is where the gearbox locks up the wheels to keep your car secure from rolling.
How to choose
Learning to drive an automatic vehicle can significantly reduce the stress and complexity of learning to drive, especially for the more nervous beginners. With automatic transmission, gear changes happen smoothly and effortlessly, allowing you to focus on steering and controlling the vehicle without the added task of shifting gears. This can be particularly beneficial in heavy traffic situations where continuous stopping and starting are required.
Learning to drive a manual car would mean that you are able to drive both automatic or manual andthere will be more choices of car available to you.
It can also be beneficial to some job prospects, as many employers would require a manual licence.
Learning to drive a manual car advantages
On the other hand, learning to drive a manual vehicle offers its own set of advantages. Manual transmission may provide drivers with more control over the vehicle, allowing for a more engaged driving experience. Being able to shift gears manually can be advantageous in various driving conditions such as steep inclines or challenging weather situations. Although most modern automatic cars have the ability to change gears manually, ust without having to use the clutch.

Manual Gear Shifter
Learning a manual will take a little bit more time as you will need to learn how to use the clutch, on the plus side you may feel that you have a little more control over a manual car.
Learning to drive an automatic car advantages
Learning to drive an automatic vehicle has many advantages that make the learning to drive experience much quicker. Without the need to master the complexities of the clutch and gear changing , new drivers can focus entirely on the road ahead, enhancing their confidence and reducing anxiety behind the wheel. Automatic cars are particularly good in urban settings where stop-and-go traffic is the norm, allowing for a more relaxed driving experience. Furthermore, as automatic transmissions have become the standard in modern vehicles, learning this skill opens a much wider array of driving options than in prevoius times. It is looking like most cars in the future will be electric and it is standard for these vehicles to have an automatic transmission.
Our advice
If you just want to get on the road as quickly as possible then automatic could be the fastest route to take. If you are hoping to have a career driving such as driving a van , ambulance or even a HGV then you may be best going with manual .
You could begin with automatic then after you have a bit of driving experience it would not be too difficult to take the manual driving test at a later date, once you have all the other driving skills in place learning the gears and clutch will be a lot easier.
