Frequently asked Questions About Our Training

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about lessons  with Andrew’s Driving Wrexham

What will my first time behind the wheel involve?

For your very first driving lesson in Rhyl, your instructor will take you to a quiet and low-traffic area so you can get used to the car in a calm setting. You’ll learn the basic controls and practise how to move off safely and come to a smooth stop, all at a pace that suits you.

Should my first driving lesson be an hour or longer?

A 90-minute driving lesson is generally ideal, as most learners begin to lose concentration beyond that point. However, many areas in Rhyl are well-suited for learning to drive, so you can still make great progress in a focused one-hour session. We offer flexible lesson durations, including 1-hour, 90-minute, and 2-hour lessons, depending on what suits your learning style and schedule best.

Is there anything I need to bring to my first driving session?

We will need to see your provisional driving licence at the beginning of your first lesson. Other than that just make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes and you will be ready to go.

Do I need to take the theory test before I can take the practical test?

You’re welcome to start your driving lessons before passing the theory test. However, you’ll need to pass the theory test before you’re able to book your practical driving test.

Is theory test training included with driving lessons?

Yes, all of our students will have full access to theorytest pro online training for the driving theory test.

Are dual carriageways or busy junctions part of the driving test route?

During your driving test in Rhyl, you could be taken on any road that’s accessible within the 40-minute test duration. Common routes may include a mix of residential areas, the busy KFC roundabout, sections of the A55, and the challenging Dyserth Bends. These roads are chosen to test a range of driving skills, but don’t worry—your instructor will ensure you’re fully prepared for each of these key areas during your lessons.

We currently have a selection of Rhyl driving test route videos available, which are a great way to familiarise yourself with the roads and junctions commonly used on test day. We’ll be adding even more videos in the coming months to give learners extra support and confidence.

Dylan Passed 1st time

Andrews driving has been by far the most reliable driving agency I have worked with. After years of test delays and other instructors not pulling through. I’ve been happy to work with the friendly instructors who are patient and reliable.

Erin passed 1st time

I had a fantastic experience with Marcus and passed first time. I’d had a few lessons with another instructor when I was younger, however in a short amount of time I felt so much more confident and comfortable on the roads.

India Passed 1st Time

I had an amazing experience learning to drive with Mark and passed first time. From the very first lesson, he was calm, supportive and encouraging. He never made me feel bad or criticised me for making mistakes, and always encouraged me to believe in myself.
