ADI Part 2 Route Video Library
Explore route walkthroughs designed to help trainee driving instructors prepare for the advanced driving standard required during the ADI Part 2 qualifying test.
Understand the roads without memorising the route
These videos introduce trainee instructors to roads, junctions, roundabouts and higher-speed sections that may be useful when preparing for the ADI Part 2 test.
The aim is not to memorise one set of directions. Part 2 preparation should help you demonstrate safe, systematic and confident driving on unfamiliar roads while maintaining effective observation, planning and vehicle control.

Demonstrate an advanced standard, not a memorised drive
Route familiarity can reduce uncertainty, but your Part 2 result depends on the quality and consistency of your driving throughout the test.
Traffic, roadworks, weather and other road users will change. Your preparation should help you apply a reliable driving system while adapting safely to whatever develops.
Maintain useful mirror checks and scan well ahead for changing hazards.
Use signs, markings and road layout to make decisions in good time.
Drive positively when conditions allow and show appropriate restraint when they do not.
Keep the same high standard across town roads, junctions and faster routes.
Build the standard required for the qualifying test
Use the route videos alongside structured training, reflective practice and feedback from an experienced instructor trainer.
